Your inheritance for animal welfare

Would you like to put what you have worked hard for in life to good purpose? Then you can use your inheritance to support animal welfare, something that has always been close to your heart.

Leave behind a better world

This is a very personal topic that can cause fear and worry. Sooner or later, we all think about our own mortality. But what should remain of us and leave a mark, if not our values and the issues close to our hearts that were important to us in life?

With your inheritance for animal welfare, you can help rescue animals from the streets and killing stations, provide them with medical care, and find them a forever home. In Romania, approximately 5 million dogs and cats suffer on the streets and in killing stations. We at Hunderettung Europa e.V. want to break this vicious cycle of pain, hunger, cold, and death. But we can only do this with the help of many animal lovers. By dedicating your will to animals, we can end the suffering of many street dogs and cats, improve the living conditions of animals in the long term, and save lives.

Choose to leave an inheritance for animal welfare that will save dogs and cats. Here you can find out everything you need to know about inheritance, wills, and your estate for shelter animals.

Thanks to your inheritance, we can...

…save animals and provide them with medical care: Rescuing dogs and cats from the streets and killing stations and providing sustainable animal welfare incurs very high costs of €50,000 per month for shelter care, medical care, vaccinations, and our large-scale neutering campaigns. This is the only way we can break the vicious cycle.

… educate the population and children: As part of our Kids & Dogs project, we visit schools, give animal welfare lessons at the shelter, talk to people on site, provide support with veterinary costs and food donations, treat emergencies, and neuter animals. We support children and young people in animal welfare lessons with learning materials and hygiene products. This results in monthly costs of €10,000 for us.

… establish an animal welfare farm in Germany: The planned animal welfare farm in Germany is intended to be a meeting place for young and old alike, providing access to animal welfare abroad, making the adoption of dogs and cats even more personal, and supporting other animal welfare associations in the training center. Without generous donations and legacies, we cannot implement this project, which is close to our hearts and saves many lives.

Important inheritance questions:

Non-profit associations registered in Germany, such as Hunderettung Europa e.V., are committed to the common good, working with a large team of volunteers and without financial gain. As there is no state support, we are dependent on financial contributions from animal lovers. All donations are tax-deductible, and inheritances save the lives of many animals in animal welfare.

We at Hunderettung Europa e.V. are a non-profit organization and work transparently and passionately to protect animals in Europe and are committed to a better future for millions of stray dogs and cats. Help us to reduce suffering in the long term by dedicating your inheritance to animal welfare.

Because together we can change their world!
By including us in your will, we have the chance to make a lasting difference to the lives of so many dogs and cats, educate people about animal welfare, and work together to create a hopeful future for everyone.

Many people find comfort in the thought that they can make the world a little better after they are gone. If you are thinking about your inheritance, this always means that you are thinking about your values and what is important to you in life. Putting your wishes in a will creates a lot of clarity for you and your loved ones. Without a will, the legal succession laid down in the Civil Code applies. Your wishes and values will only be taken into account if you write a will. With a will, you can use your last wishes to help dogs and cats and use your inheritance for animal welfare.

You can also arrange for the care of your own pet in your will by making this a condition of your inheritance to Hunderettung Europa e.V. This way, you can be sure that your furry friend is in good hands.

If you want to draw up a will to save lives with your inheritance for animal welfare, there are a few things to consider to ensure that it is legally valid. You can draw it up with the help of a notary or on your own:

– You must write the entire will by hand for it to be legally valid.
– The place and date of writing must be stated.
– It is best to give it a meaningful title to emphasize its seriousness, e.g., “My Will.”
– Formulate as clearly and in as much detail as possible who is to receive what. It must be clear who the heirs are and whom you wish to include in your bequest.
– If you wish to revoke an old will, emphasize this in the text of the new will. Avoid crossing out text.
– It is essential that you sign your name at the end of the will.

The simplest form of will is a handwritten will.

Storage – Will for animal welfare:
Keep your will in a safe place. The will should not be hidden too well, so that it can be found in case of an emergency. It can be kept at home, but a safe deposit box seems more secure. The safest place to store it is at your local district court.

Drawing up a will with a notary:
Would you like to include certain conditions and obligations in your will or specify complex inheritance arrangements? Get help from inheritance law experts to ensure that your will is unambiguous and have it drawn up by a notary. Legal counsel can explain the implications of your decisions and how to keep your will safe. The costs for the consultation and the drafting of the will are based on the notary’s schedule of fees or on a fee agreement with the legal advisor and depend on the value of the estate.
